Our last day on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica was spent visiting Park Manuel Antonio. We decided to leave early, as we wanted to avoid any big crowds inside the park. Park Manuel Antonio is one of the most attractive national parks in the world and is home to a lot of Costa Rican animals, such as sloths and capuchin monkeys.
The national park offers different tours and guides, but we decided to go off on our own and explore the habitats by ourselves. In the end though, it turned out that a guide would have been helpful, since they already know the park and all its details and we left not having seen that many animals.
On one incident, we settled down at a beach to have lunch, but some capuchin monkeys decided to raid our sandwiches and we had to relocate. The animals are generally not afraid of visitors at all and especially raccoons and capuchin monkeys can even get aggressive towards humans.
After about 3 hours of walking through the park, we left for some lunch in Jaco, the town we were staying in, and then headed out for San José, where we are now staying for the rest of our trip.
