For today, the teams that live in Germany had planned a tour through San José, the capital of Costa Rica.
We all gathered at the hotel most teams were staying in and got on a bus to downtown San José. We had a Costa Rican guide who was able to tell us a lot about the country's history and give us some background information.
It took us about an hour to get into San José due to Costa Rica's chaotic traffic, but we eventually reached our destination and got off the bus.
We started off by learning a bit about Costa Rica's history and how in 1856, Central America defended itself against North American parties. After some walking, we reached the national museum of Costa Rica, which once was the national military fort, but nowadays Costa Rican does not have any army whatsoever because they believe that nobody has any interest in attacking them due to their lack of natural resources.
We went on through San José and ended our tour at the national theater, which Costa Ricans are especially proud of because the government established a special tax during its construction, so in a way every Costa Rican contributed to the project.
Tomorrow is the first day of the three-day WRO event and we are very much looking forward to seeing all the project of the other teams.
